Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: Good park editor, cool new story mode new to Underground, play online, face scans, good level design, Off the board trick (new in THUG)

Weakness: Nothing at all

Tony Hawk's Underground is the 5th game in the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series & while it has everything that has made the other THPS games good it expands & does something different to add a twist to the series also. In the story mode you get to start as a nobody and work your way up to a pro skater. The big move added to this THPS is being able to jump off the board which can be done mid combo then...

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: Brilliant gameplay, nice big levels with lots of long combo lines, no time limit.

Weakness: Erm? well nothing

Wow well what an improvement! All the other pro skaters are nothing compared to this, it really will change skateboarding games forever. You start as a sruffy little kid from New Jersey and finally make it as pro, instead of starting as one. You can get of your board, drive cars and climb. The game also has a story to it. The story is that you and your annoying mate Eric Sparrow are trying to...

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: Great graphics, killer control and gameplay, and 190 wicked goals that will blow your mind.

Weakness: Sometimes goals can be difficult and tedious, but in the end it's all worth it.

If you were getting tired of the somewhat repetitive THPS series from games 1-3, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 is definately the game that will win you back. It brings in an entire new style featuring massive interactive levels and now there's no time limit. I give this game a 5.0 out of 5.0. I highly recomend the purchase of this game, especially with the incredible prices at pricegrabber. You will...

Tony Hawk franchise reborn with Underground!

Strengths: Good gameplay, online play, ability to scan face in, fun gameplay, park editor, story mode.

Weakness: Same old Tony Hawk (which can be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective).

There have been so many Tony Hawks, it's kind of amazing how this franchise never seems to run out of steam. But once again, the developers have topped themselves with their first iteration of the Underground series. I really liked the career mode where you can build your skater from a nobody, to the best in the world. Someone likened this journey to the "Rocky" movies. The gameplay is very...

Another great THPS

Strengths: Nice storyline, added moves, new environments

Weakness: N/A

Having played THPS4, Underground is a great improvement to the series. One of the biggest things lacking from #4 was a storyline. In THUG you start off as a nobody and work your way up the ranks into the pros and eventually become world famous. There are new moves and tricks that have been added, new territories to skate, and new characters to play with. Overall THUG is a definate must buy not...

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: + an actual story mode + the levels are huge and detailed

Weakness: - the character models could've used some more work - may be hard for beginners

Tony Hawk's Underground pumps some new life into the tired Tony Hawk Pro Skater series by adding a story mode and it's fun to play even for people who aren't big skater fans. Although I played a little of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, I'm definitely new to skateboarding games. As a beginner I found the game to be quite enjoyable because of the added story mode. I thought it was more approachable than...

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: great music and control

Weakness: weak story

This game has great music to skate along to. It flows with great controls. The levels are nicely done, the off-board parts aren't that bad, but the vehicles do suck. Activision should never add vehicles to a tony hawk game. The game is the best tony hawk since 4, because thug 2 wasn't all that great. It should be cheap now, buy when you have the money.

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: Better then 3 & 4

Weakness: N/A

Big levels, lots of characters, plethora of gaps and new and old maps. The team has brought the series to another high (underground). More tricks more falls, more of everything! This game brings the punk out of yourself and onto the screen with creatable decks, characters, and maps. I recommend this game to anyone with an agile thumb.

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: Great graphics, solid, deep skating and trick engine, fun premise

Weakness: Climbing up the "skating ladder" may be more work than skating game purists might want

Tony Hawk Underground is simply a good idea using another good idea in a unexpectedly successful way. Before T.H.U.G., Grand Theft Auto III shook the gaming community with it's open ended gameplay and, in essence, began a new sensibility in gaming. This free form type of gaming became all the rage, and Neversoft apparently decided to simply ride the trend. Fortunately to skating game fans,...

Activision Tony Hawk's Underground

Strengths: Good music and graphics. Cool tricks and a lot of levels to keep you busy. Sometimes hard, but they can't make it too easy.

Weakness: None.

This game is much better than the previous Tony Hawk games. Nice low price, has great gameplay options, might get addicting. Makes a great gift for someone how is into sport games.

Tony Hawk's Underground

When Activision and Neversoft first released Tony Hawk Pro Skater, they created an instant hit to an otherwise dead genre. Since that time, Neversoft created four more games in the series and each version is far superior to its predecessor, both in gameplay and graphics. For the fifth version, Neversoft has decided to expand the storyline in the game, and make it more personal. How does this...
